Rhonda discusses the two year project of the Alliance Virtual Library in Second Life. Rhonda Trueman (aka Abbey Zenith on Second Life) is Head of Reference for Johnson & Wales University's Charlotte Library. She is a member of ALA and ACRL, serving as current chair for the ACRL Second Life Task Force. Rhonda has been with Alliance Virtual Library from its initial presence in Second Life and now serves as Director of Library Resources and Services, managing the AVL library islands of Info Island, Info Island International, Infotainment, Imagination, and Illumination.

Session Title: "Teaching in Virtual Worlds: A Report from the Trenches" Session Speaker: Joe Sanchez Presentation for Download Forthcoming Picking up where the discussion at ALA left off, Joe Sanchez, talked about teaching in virtual worlds and the why the librarian skill set is well suited for virtual worlds. Joe Sanchez, M.S. is completing his doctoral work in the School of Information at the University of Texas at Austin with research focusing on Shared Virtual Environments (SVE), Learning 2.0, Social Informatics, and instructional technology. He has presented research about the use and development of instructional technology at Educause, Ed-Media, SITE, Syllabus, TXDLA, and IOL. His recent work includes a qualitative assessment of the Second Life user experience for a World Literature course at the University of Texas at Austin.
