FAQ

The Alliance Library System, LearningTimes, and TAP Information Services are pleased bring you this virtual conference. Below are answers to frequently asked questions about virtual conferences. Do not hesitate to contact us if you have any additional questions. We look forward to seeing you, live online.
What is a virtual conference?
A virtual conference takes place entirely over the Internet. You attend from any web connection, interacting with speakers and colleagues in a lively and meaningful manner - from anywhere. Note that this online conference will not be taking place in Second Life. We'll be using Adobe Connect for the sessions. While "It's a Virtual, Virtual, Virtual, Virtual World" is taking place on October 1st and 2nd, the conversation doesn't need to end when the live events conclude. Use the conference blog and other community features to keep the discussion going.

What can I expect during a live webcast?
During each webcast, you will hear and interact with our presenters and your colleagues from around the world. Each webcast includes opportunities to ask questions in real time, and share experiences, resources and ideas with other participating colleagues.

  • A PC or Mac (OS X 10.2 or higher) computer with a standard Internet connection (56 kbps or higher)

Do I need a microphone or camera?

You will be able to submit questions and share ideas and resources by entering them during the live event in a specified chat box that you will see on screen.

Will the events be recorded?
